A strange weekend, arriving here late on Friday night, getting up early on Saturday to go house hunting with the agent, spending most of Sunday sleeping and most of the night to Monday NOT sleeping.
We viewed 8 different condos and one of them is perfect for us. It ticks all the boxes; location, balconies, facilities and we really can’t wait to move in. Hopefully we’ll get access on the 16th of August.
Today was G’s first day at the office and I had the pleasure of hanging with our jet lagged cherubs all by my self. Even though they hardly slept during the night I forced them up in the morning in a try to get us into the right timezone.
Breakfast here is interesting, a mix of asian and western. Every morning it’s a little different, the staples are eggs in your usual varieties; scrambled, omelette, fried, boiled, there’s bread and croissants and lovely coffee. There is also fish porridge (?), sometimes noodles, curry, puris, creamed spinach… Today Ben opted for pancakes with maple syrup and sushi.
After a few hours by the pool we went on a little walk along Singapore River, trying to spot some fish. We saw two little turtles in the water and Bea found a millipede. There was a pleasant breeze and quite tranquil walking along the water. Not far from the hotel is the Tiong Bahru Park, a lush space with massive trees and a big playground. Of course we had to check it out!
As I’m a massive plant nerd I was admiring the Banyan trees and a lovely old Singaporean came up and told me lots of interesting facts about them, he said I must visit the Botanical Garden because there is a very big one there.
Right, that’s it for now. Hopefully I’ll get better at editing the content of this blog and start understanding WordPress.
